The 7-Eleven Cliqq-Air21 Road Bike Philippines team is set to make a strong return to the international stage at the Petronas Le Tour de Langkawi 2022, scheduled for October 11–18 in Malaysia.

The Philippine Continental squad officially received its invitation on Wednesday to compete in the UCI ProSeries, a prestigious three-tier UCI event formerly known as Hors Category. This year’s race will feature a competitive lineup, with six World Tour teams, six Pro Continental teams, and ten Continental squads all vying for honors.

Founded by Engr. Bong Sual and owned by Vic Paterno, the 7-Eleven team continues to carry the flag for Philippine cycling at the highest level. Team captain Marcelo Felipe, who recently claimed the Best ASEAN Rider title at the 2.1 Tour of Thailand, will lead a determined roster composed of Nichol Pareja, Rench Michael Bondoc, John Richard Salazar, Junreck Carcueva, and Gilbert Valdez.

Team director Ric Rodriguez expressed his excitement about the opportunity, noting that receiving an invitation to such a prestigious event has long been a goal for the squad. He emphasized that the team will set its sights on both the Best Asian Rider and Best Asian Team classifications during the race.

Before heading to Langkawi, the riders will first test their form at another challenging event: the Tour de Taiwan (2.1), which runs from October 2–6.

With momentum from recent successes and a renewed chance to compete against some of the world’s best teams, 7-Eleven Cliqq-Air21 Road Bike Philippines is ready to prove its strength on the international stage once again.
