Nusantara Cycling Team has been crowned the Best Asian Team at Le Tour de Langkawi 2026, completing a strong campaign for Indonesian cycling at the 30th edition of one of Asia’s biggest professional stage races. The Indonesian UCI Continental squad finished the eight-stage race with a combined time of 87:42:33, securing the Best Asian Team classification by 4 minutes and 34 seconds over WheelTop Rotor Chengdu.

Back-to-Back Best Asian Team Champions

The result makes the achievement even more significant: Nusantara successfully defended its Best Asian Team title, having also won the classification at Le Tour de Langkawi in 2025.

Coming into the 2026 race, Nusantara faced a field featuring 20 teams, including two UCI WorldTeams, eight ProTeams, nine Continental teams and the Malaysian National Team. Across eight stages and a challenging route, the Indonesian squad remained competitive against some of the strongest teams racing in Asia.

Fighting at the Front

Nusantara’s success was built across the entire tour, with the team consistently protecting its position in the Asian team classification.

Imam Arifin was among the riders who gave Nusantara visibility throughout the race. His aggressive Stage 3 performance included time in the breakaway and results in the intermediate sprint and KOM battles. Arifin also closed the tour with a 10th-place finish on Stage 8 in Putrajaya, crossing with the main group.

The team entered the final stage already leading the Best Asian Team standings and successfully carried that advantage all the way to the finish in Putrajaya.

Indonesia on Top in Asia

Nusantara finished ahead of WheelTop Rotor Chengdu, while the Malaysia National Team completed the top three in the final Best Asian Team classification.

For a Continental squad competing alongside WorldTour and ProTeam opposition, retaining the title represents another important result for both Nusantara Cycling Team and Indonesian professional cycling.
