As part of pre-season preparation, an athlete evaluation was conducted in San Luis, Argentina, during day 20 of a scheduled 30-day rest period. The goal was to objectively assess current physical condition after time off and establish a clear performance baseline for the months ahead.

Pre-season testing plays a critical role in understanding how the body responds after rest. Measuring key physiological markers—such as VO₂ max, anaerobic threshold (LT2), ventilatory thresholds (VT1–VT2), power at VO₂ max (pVO₂ max), and mechanical efficiency—provides essential insights into fitness level and performance capacity.

These values serve as the foundation for accurate training planning, allowing coaches to design appropriate workloads, define training intensities, and set realistic objectives for the season. With precise data in hand, training becomes more structured, efficient, and targeted.

Special thanks to Centro Diagnóstico Respiratorio San Luis and Dr. Adolfo Salvatierra for their professional support and detailed assessments, which are invaluable tools in the preparation process.

With the baseline established, the focus now shifts to building form and returning stronger in the weeks ahead.

Pre-season is not just about rest—it’s about preparation. 💪🚴
