Jenny Rissveds has added yet another prestigious title to her already impressive medal collectionโthis time clinching World Cup gold in XCO after a masterful performance in Crans-Montana, Switzerland.
On a tricky, root-filled natural course that challenged even the strongest riders, Rissveds glided with precision and calm, delivering a race that was both clinical and powerful.
A Battle of the Best
From the start, the pace was fierce. World Cup leader Samara Maxwell (NZL) and XCC World Champion Alessandra Keller (SUI) were the only riders able to match Rissvedsโ tempo, pushing her hard on the climbs in front of an electrified home crowd. But it was Rissvedsโ unmatched technical finesse in the demanding sections that gave her the decisive edge.
Maxwell stayed within ten seconds in the final laps, but in the end, it was Rissvedsโ strength, focus, and skill that proved unbeatable.
Jenny Rissveds on Her Victory
๐ฌ โWe all say we want to be world championsโitโs something you dream of as a child. But this year was the first time I really believed I could do it. I went in knowing I was in good shape, and today I made it happen. Iโm super proud.โ
On the race strategy:
๐ฌ โThe idea wasnโt necessarily to take the lead from the start. I just wanted to ride my own race. Once I got going, I just kept pushing. I really love this trackโsuper cool that theyโve kept it so natural.โ
National Teamโs Take
Swedish national team captain David Eriksson was full of praise after the win:
๐ฌ โWorld Championship gold! Jenny had a fantastic race today, especially considering how strong Maxwell and the others were. Jenny looked the strongest on the first climbs and was in control the whole way. It was an incredibly exciting race with a fantastic atmosphereโI can imagine it was great TV as well!โ
A Historic Day
With this victory, Jenny Rissveds continues to cement her status as one of the top athletes in modern mountain biking. Her combination of form, strategy, and technical mastery has once again delivered a golden performanceโone that will be remembered for years to come.
๐ Congratulations, Jenny!
