Esra Kürkcü Akgönül

Esra Kürkcü Akgönül is an academic at Dokuz Eylül University’s Faculty of Sports Sciences and a passionate elite cyclist from Izmir, Turkiye. With a career spanning nearly two decades, she has competed in UCI national Olympic races and proudly represented her country at the 2012, 2016, and 2020 Olympic Games. Beyond her professional accolades, Esra continues to train and race at a high level while balancing her academic life, showing that passion and discipline can thrive together.

Throughout her journey, Esra has collected multiple national road and MTB titles, Balkan championships, and international UCI victories. Her consistency and resilience have made her one of the most respected athletes in Turkish cycling.
