Torres – Sobato Shows Fighting Spirit at Volta Galicia and Adds Another Podium at the Criterium Cup

The road cycling season is slowly reaching its end. With autumn approaching, the calendar that began back in February—packed with cup races, one-day classics, and multi-stage events—is gradually winding down. Yet before the curtain falls, Torres – Sobato has proven once again that the team remains full of energy and determination, highlighted by an aggressive showing at the Volta Galicia and a new podium finish at the Criterium Cup.
Fighting Hard at Volta Galicia
The Volta Galicia opened with an individual time trial in Ribadumia, where Callum Twelves displayed his strength against the clock, securing 8th place, just 20 seconds off the winner’s pace. In the general classification, Will Kirkham was the next Torres – Sobato rider on the leaderboard, conceding 42 seconds.
Any chance of fighting for the yellow jersey, however, slipped away during a tough second stage, where Joel Morales and Asger Paaske took center stage by launching breakaways.
Still, the Aragon-based squad bounced back in the third stage, where Will Kirkham stayed with the main favorites until the final section, finishing 24th after responding to several decisive moves—joined by Twelves and Morales in active racing throughout. In the final stage, Kirkham pushed forward again, making it into the day’s longest-lasting breakaway before being reeled in just 10 kilometers from the finish, as the favorites battled for victory.
Podium Success at the Gran Premio Villa de Binéfar
The following week, the team continued their momentum at the Gran Premio Villa de Binéfar, the fourth scoring round of the Criterium Cup. Racing close to home, the event gave Torres – Sobato another chance to showcase their form.
From the very start, Diego Gonzalo animated the race with an early attack, splitting the peloton before halfway through the scheduled laps. In the end, despite not being able to catch the lone escapee who claimed victory, the team celebrated another strong performance, with Gonzalo stepping onto the podium in 2nd place.
A Season of Grit and Consistency
As the season nears its close, Torres – Sobato continues to show resilience and ambition, combining aggressive racing with consistent results. With podiums at home and strong international showings, the team heads into the final races of the year with confidence and momentum.
