The journey continues for Team Go For Gold Philippines, as the squad has officially touched down in Kumamoto, Japan, ready to take on one of the season’s most exciting mountain bike events — the Yoshimuta Kumamoto MTB Festa.

Wasting no time after arrival, our riders got straight to work. While waiting for hotel check-in, they squeezed in a light post-flight training session — just enough to loosen up, shake off the travel fatigue, and keep their legs fresh for the upcoming race weekend. It was the perfect way to get back into rhythm and focus on the challenges ahead.

The action kicks off this weekend with the XCC (Cross-Country Short Track) event on October 18, followed by the XCO (Cross-Country Olympic) race on October 19, both under the Elite Category. With top riders from across Asia converging in Kumamoto, the competition promises to be fierce — but Team Go For Gold is more than ready to rise to the occasion.

Fueled by determination, teamwork, and the spirit of the sport, our athletes are set to give their all on the trails of Japan. Let’s go, team! 💪🇵🇭
