Torres-Sobato Bring the Fight to Elgoibar and Gernika

Another week, another set of battles on the tough roads of the Basque Country — and once again, the Torres-Sobato squad showed exactly what they’re made of. Racing with their trademark grit and aggressive style, the Aragonese riders threw themselves into the action at both Memorial Etxaniz (Elgoibar) and San Bartolome Sari Nagusia (Gernika).
The opener in Elgoibar exploded from the start. Attacks were flying left and right before a breakaway finally formed — and Will Kirkham was right in the middle of it. With the gap stretching to nearly a minute, it looked like the move might stick, but the peloton had other ideas. The bunch reeled it in and a furious sprint decided the day, with Kirkham holding his own to finish a solid 21st after hours of all-out effort.
Sunday’s race in Gernika had a familiar script — fast start, constant attacks — but this time it was Diego Gonzalo who stepped up. He made it into a dangerous group of 20 that led the race for more than half the day. Not only did he show serious strength at the front, but he also came away with second place in the intermediate sprints classification. In the closing kilometers, Callum Twelves lit it up with a series of brave attacks before sprinting to 13th place from a chasing group.
Two days of non-stop action. Big moves in the break. Aggression to the very end. That’s Torres-Sobato in a nutshell. The team keeps proving they’re not just showing up — they’re racing with fire and fighting spirit every single kilometer.
