CCN Sport + Merrell Racing NZ Takes 4th at Wulong Mountain Quest Day 2

CCN Sport + Merrell Racing NZ continued its strong performance at the 2026 Wulong Mountain Quest in Chongqing, China, moving up to 4th overall after a demanding second day of racing.

The team faced another multi-discipline course combining long-distance running, mountain biking, rafting, wild caving, and one of the event’s more unusual challenges — a fish catch.

A Bigger Challenge on Day Two

After finishing 7th overall on Day One, CCN Factory Racing returned for an even more varied course on Day Two.

The stage consisted of:

21 km run → 21 km MTB → 5 km raft → 7 km MTB → 5 km wild caving/run → fish catch

The combination demanded more than endurance. Riders had to transition repeatedly between running, cycling, rafting, and technical terrain while working together throughout the course.

CCN Sport + Merrell Racing NZ responded with a strong performance, finishing 4th overall on Day Two.

The result marked a significant improvement from the team's seventh-place opening day and demonstrated its ability to handle the varied challenges of the Wulong Mountain Quest.

From the opening 21 km run to the mountain bike sections and the final caving and fish-catching challenges, the team stayed competitive throughout a long day in Chongqing.

Building Momentum in Wulong

Two days into the competition, CCN Factory Racing has produced consecutive strong performances against the international adventure racing field.

Day One: 7th overall
Day Two: 4th overall

With the team moving closer to the front on Day Two, the focus now shifts to carrying that momentum into the remaining racing at the 2026 Wulong Mountain Quest.
