Mentorise Cycling Team closed out the Tour of Romania 2026 with a top-10 General Classification finish and two riders on the Best Romanian Rider podium.
The final stage brought another aggressive performance from the team, with Mattew Piciu joining the breakaway of the day before completing a strong week of racing on home roads.
After several demanding stages, Piciu completed the Tour of Romania 2026 in 9th place in the General Classification, securing a top-10 overall result for Mentorise Cycling Team.
His performance on the final day reflected the team's approach throughout the Tour. Rather than simply protecting his position, Piciu went on the attack and joined the day's breakaway.
It capped off a consistent performance across the race and gave Mentorise another strong result in one of Romania's major road cycling events.
Two Mentorise Riders on the Romanian Podium
The team had even more to celebrate in the Best Romanian Rider Classification.
Piciu finished 2nd 🥈, while teammate Catalin Buta secured 3rd 🥉, putting two Mentorise Cycling Team riders on the final podium.
With Piciu also finishing inside the overall top 10, the results provided a strong conclusion to the team's Tour of Romania campaign.

A Memorable Tour of Romania for Mentorise
Earlier in the Tour, Gerhard Moldansky earned the Blue Jersey after Stage 1, adding another highlight to Mentorise Cycling Team's performance at the 2026 race.
From competing for classification jerseys to breakaway appearances and a top-10 GC finish, the team remained visible throughout the Tour.
The results were made possible by the combined work of the riders, staff, sponsors, partners, and supporters behind the team throughout the race.
For CCN Sport, it was another opportunity to see a CCN-equipped team performing on an important international stage and representing its colors at the front of the race.
Congratulations to Mattew Piciu, Catalin Buta, Gerhard Moldansky, and the entire Mentorise Cycling Team on completing the Tour of Romania 2026.
