MENtoRISE Cycling Team at The Wall Road Grand Tour
The Wall Road Grand Tour, one of Romania's cherished domestic races, has always held a special place in the hearts of the MENtoRISE Cycling Team. Not only is the course conveniently close to our headquarters in Campina, but the event also benefits from the dedication and passion of some truly remarkable individuals involved in its organization. Without them, the Romanian racing scene would look very different. We want to start this post by expressing our deep appreciation to the race organizers for their hard work and dedication in making this event possible. We wish for more people like you in our community!
Race Day Action
Last year, we had an incredible performance, sweeping the elite podium at The Wall. This year, we lined up with even bigger ambitions. Our strategy was aggressive from the start, capitalizing on our numerical advantage. However, the challenging nature of the course meant that no significant moves stuck until the final 20 kilometers. This stretch marked the beginning of the last substantial climb and the moment when the race truly heated up.
Our team executed a brilliant strategy, controlling the group all the way to the finish. This effort resulted in a remarkable second place for Gerhard Moldansky, third for Mattew Piciu, and a strong fourth-place finish for Iustin Vaidian. Special mention goes to Dobrini Oan, Andrei florea, and Leo Barbu for their critical roles in supporting the team throughout the race. Chapeau to all our riders for an almost perfect day of racing! We are determined to come back even stronger next year!
WOMENtoRISE Shines
In the women's race, our newly established WOMENtoRISE project had a strong showing despite a few organizational hiccups. Our young talents finished impressively, with Ana Elena Gheorghe securing fifth place and Daria Gheorghe finishing sixth in the Juniors Women category. Well done, girls! 🤘
Looking Ahead
The Wall Road Grand Tour continues to be a key highlight of our racing calendar. It's not just about the race itself, but also about the community and the shared passion for cycling that brings us all together. We are grateful for the support and camaraderie we experience at these events and look forward to many more successful races.
Stay tuned for more updates and stories from the MENtoRISE Cycling Team. Until next time, keep riding and pushing your limits!
